Weekly Devotions
The Bow in the Cloud
We carry the weight of broken promises so long that we start to assume every promise has a breaking point. We know better than to say that about God out loud.
Creation Speaks — And So Does Grace
Later, I asked her directly — “Where do you think your faith comes from?”
Temptation vs Testing
Temptation does not come from God. Its purpose is to pull us away—to weaken us, to distract us, to lead us into choices that ultimately bring harm, shame, or distance in our relationship with Him.
God Wrote the Words
When purpose takes over, the results move from the talent of man to the realm of the Divine. We see this “Divine” perfection most clearly…
The Sufficiency of Christ
Paul didn’t get his thorn removed. He got something better. He got the reminder that the God of the universe was personally present in his weakness.
Your Will be Done
God’s kingdom sums up everything a Christian longs for and Corinthians 13 describes this as a world characterized by faith, hope, and love. If our earthly world was built on only these three principles, how much more peaceful, more beautiful, and more livable would it be than the world we’re living in right now?
What Did the Lord’s Prayer Mean to Me?
For many people, the Lord’s Prayer is something they learn early in life. For me, it’s as ingrained as my instinct to breathe.
Why Does a Good God Allow Suffering?
Hardship often shifts our focus from temporary comfort to eternal hope. When life is easy, we tend to rely on ourselves. But when life becomes difficult, we often find ourselves turning to God for strength.
Fear and the Favorite Son
His life would travel from favorite son to a man marked for death, thrown in a pit, sold to nomadic travelers, and imprisoned for roughly thirteen years, before he became the second-most powerful man in one of the world’s greatest dynasties.
The View from the Pit
Oliver Hardy used to say, “This is a fine mess you’ve gotten us into.” It’s funny in a comedy sketch, but not so funny when it’s your actual life.
Matthew 14:22-33
Walking on Water: A story of miracles, fear, and faith (Read Matthew 14:22-33) One of the coolest miracles that a lot of people would probably like to do, was when Jesus walked on water. It was important for Jesus’ disciples to see him perform this miracle. Equally important, was for him to get one his […]
Luke 18:35-43
Jesus performed many miracles during his relatively short life on earth. Many of them included the healing of people suffering from physical, spiritual, and emotional illnesses. Regardless of nature the miracles, they all resulted in the installation of faith in the cured.
John 2: 1-11
Over the next 5 weeks, we’re going to focus on the miracles that Jesus Christ performed. In the spirit of Christmas, it will also allow us to focus on the miracle-maker over the miracle itself. The time leading up to Christmas is also known as Advent, meaning: ‘Coming’ in Latin.
Philippians 4: 8-23
The secret to being content in any and every situation (Please read Philippians 4: 8-23) This week, we’re wrapping up Paul’s letter to the Philippians. The book has also been called “Joy Book” partially because that church gave Paul so much joy. So much of this letter is devoted Paul’s focus on finding joy and […]
Philippians 4: 1-7
I will say it again: Rejoice! (Please read Philippians 4: 1-7) Philippians 4 starts by reminding everyone to stand firm in the Lord. It’s important to start with this message as we dive deeper into Philippians. We then go on to read Paul pleading to Euodia and Syntyche to unite in the word of Christ. […]
Philippians 3: 1-6
We can’t impress God, but we can live in His impression (Please read Philippians 3:1-6) Commentary: Paul’s warning was clear in his letter to the Philippians about the trap of following the law to win God’s favor. Children try to gain their parents’ love by behaving and doing their chores and obeying the rules. While […]
Philippians 3: 7-21
It’s Your Loss (Please read Philippians 3:7-21) Commentary: Several topics are addressed in the closing of Philippians 3, but the most valuable point he made was about gain and loss. Paul said, “But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a […]
Philippians 2: 12-30
Service (and Sacrifice) with a Smile (Please read Philippians 2:12-30) Commentary: Paul was a tangible, real-life example to the Philippians of what actual service to Christ should look like. He suffered frequently for his allegiance to Jesus’ Gospel. He was whipped, stoned, imprisoned, and beaten. Not once did he complain or ask to be relieved […]

Revelation Study Guide
David Silver
Many people, even Christians, fear the book of Revelation. While it is one of the hardest books of the Bible to understand and apply, it is nonetheless possible to make great progress. It is actually one of the most encouraging books of the Bible. The main theme is for believers to continue to be faithful and endure tribulation, despite persecution, spiritual warfare, and trials. This study guide will take you through every chapter of Revelation and give you a good sense of the content and application. May God richly bless you as the book promises to those who take this book to heart.
