Mission Statement:

Feel free to download our free resources including study guides, books and devotionals. There are videos to encourage and a link to our testimony movie, Silver Twins. The Pastoral Epistles Layman’s Guide

The Pastoral Epistles Layman’s Guide, written by Dr. David Silver, highlights Paul’s final instructions to Timothy and Titus as they lead churches facing threats from false teaching. Paul urges them to guard the gospel, appoint godly leaders, and teach sound doctrine that produces transformed lives. The letters emphasize that true faith results in godliness, healthy relationships, perseverance in hardship, and devotion to good works. Above all, the church must uphold the truth of the gospel so it can flourish in character, stability, and witness to the world.

Weekly Devotions

The Bow in the Cloud

May 2, 2026

We carry the weight of broken promises so long that we start to assume every promise has a breaking point. We know better than to say that about God out loud.

Creation Speaks — And So Does Grace

April 24, 2026

Later, I asked her directly — “Where do you think your faith comes from?”

Temptation vs Testing

April 17, 2026

Temptation does not come from God. Its purpose is to pull us away—to weaken us, to distract us, to lead us into choices that ultimately bring harm, shame, or distance in our relationship with Him.

God Wrote the Words

April 10, 2026

When purpose takes over, the results move from the talent of man to the realm of the Divine. We see this “Divine” perfection most clearly…

The Sufficiency of Christ

April 3, 2026

Paul didn’t get his thorn removed. He got something better. He got the reminder that the God of the universe was personally present in his weakness.

Your Will be Done

March 27, 2026

God’s kingdom sums up everything a Christian longs for and Corinthians 13 describes this as a world characterized by faith, hope, and love. If our earthly world was built on only these three principles, how much more peaceful, more beautiful, and more livable would it be than the world we’re living in right now?

What Did the Lord’s Prayer Mean to Me?

March 20, 2026

For many people, the Lord’s Prayer is something they learn early in life. For me, it’s as ingrained as my instinct to breathe.

Why Does a Good God Allow Suffering?

March 13, 2026

Hardship often shifts our focus from temporary comfort to eternal hope. When life is easy, we tend to rely on ourselves. But when life becomes difficult, we often find ourselves turning to God for strength.

Fear and the Favorite Son

March 7, 2026

His life would travel from favorite son to a man marked for death, thrown in a pit, sold to nomadic travelers, and imprisoned for roughly thirteen years, before he became the second-most powerful man in one of the world’s greatest dynasties.

The View from the Pit

February 27, 2026

Oliver Hardy used to say, “This is a fine mess you’ve gotten us into.” It’s funny in a comedy sketch, but not so funny when it’s your actual life.

Few Things are Needed or Maybe Just One

By Robert Wilkins | July 16, 2021

Two weeks ago, we learned about my son’s friend T and his faith journey. We learned about how his trust in God’s perfection and his surrender of personal control led to the unequaled freedom and indescribable love of the gift of his daughter. This week, we’re going to learn about T’s wife M.

On Eagles Wings

By Robert Wilkins | July 11, 2021

Back in October we wrote about losing our self-righteousness and abandoning our pride as pointed out in Psalm 46. This Psalm also speaks about a bigger aspect that God offers; His shelter. God offers us permanent refuge, strength, and 24/7 assistance in times of trouble. A few weeks ago, a long-time friend of our son sat down with me on her visit and shared her beliefs.

Blessed is the One

By Robert Wilkins | July 2, 2021

It took 2 years in the making, but we finally got the entire family together for a week at the beach. Our son and his wife are actively engaged at a very large church in Raleigh. They asked if they could invite some good church friends to join us for a few days. After what felt like an eternity of exclusion due to the Pandemic, my wife and I welcomed them with open arms.

Staring at the Sun Can Make You Blind

By Robert Wilkins | June 18, 2021

A lot can happen in a week. Last week in Acts 12, the church witnessed Paul and Barnabas preaching to enthusiastic worshippers. One week later in Acts 13, the church in Antioch experienced a sifting of doubters from the true believers. Paul and Barnabas would take the real followers to start a church that would endure for nearly 500 years.

The Power of Prayer Warriors

By Robert Wilkins | June 11, 2021

Prayer comes in many forms. Some of us pray formal prayers. Some pray only in church. Others, pray whenever necessary. God hears and answers all our prayers, but rather than changing His heart, prayer aligns us with His will. British Pastor, Charles Spurgeon often talked about the engine room in the basement of his church. Spurgeon would take visitors to a room where about 300 people would be involved in continuous prayer. He called it the “powerhouse of this church.”

It’s Not What’s In A Name, It’s What’s Behind It

By Robert Wilkins | June 4, 2021

In Acts 10, we saw the veil lifted off of the apostle Peter’s eyes as God showed him the real truth. “What God has made clean, do not call common,” He said. Peter first interpreted the lesson of the unclean relation to food or even animals, but as his eyes were opened, he came to know that God was talking about people. All are equal under God. Despite this revelation to Peter, many of his followers still had their doubts.

The Conversion of All

By Robert Wilkins | May 21, 2021

God has a habit throughout all of scripture of using the most unlikely individuals to do his work. He makes no exceptions. We all know sincere, spirit-filled people who are humble, who draw no attention to themselves. These people don’t crave attention or glory. They are purpose-driven. There is another version of spiritual people who are also purpose-driven, but they have self-gratifying motivations. One version is blind, one is not.

Fake News and the Truth

By Robert Wilkins | May 14, 2021

This chapter begins with persecution following Stephen’s execution and ends with glorification. The early followers of Jesus in Judea and Samaria went from jubilation of the empty tomb to systematic attacks from Paul.

Revelation Study Guide

David Silver

Many people, even Christians, fear the book of Revelation. While it is one of the hardest books of the Bible to understand and apply, it is nonetheless possible to make great progress. It is actually one of the most encouraging books of the Bible. The main theme is for believers to continue to be faithful and endure tribulation, despite persecution, spiritual warfare, and trials. This study guide will take you through every chapter of Revelation and give you a good sense of the content and application. May God richly bless you as the book promises to those who take this book to heart.
