This verse gives us a clear understanding as to what gift God is giving us, but also why he is giving it to us. The angel proclaims that the Virgin Mary will give birth to a son and his name will be Jesus. It is important to note that this is a true virgin birth, which shows the work that only God can do. Jesus will be God incarnate. He will come come to save us. What gift is Jesus coming to bring? What is Jesus saving us from? The angel says that the objective of Jesus is to save His people from their sins. Without forgiveness of our sins, there could be no peace, no love, and not even hope. Now that Jesus has come to save us, there is plenty to celebrate. Only now, are we able to be at peace. What are you going to celebrate by knowing this good news?
