Isaiah 9: 6-7

How many of you were overcome with stress around this time of year? Figuring out what to get for your mother, or brother, or friend can be a daunting task. We want to be generous and get each other something more than thoughts and prayers. We want to get them something symbolic of the love that you have for them. There is nothing wrong with the generosity of gift giving, which God showed us when he gave us Jesus. However, it is when we lose sight of the motive, when things can get tricky.

As we prepare for our holiday celebrations, parties, and gift exchanges, let us recognize the greatest gift that we have gotten. How is it that a gift given many, many years before our time, is still our greatest gift today? Let us give thanks!
